Lost my mobile phone yesterday. Simply cannot recall where I dropped it. Only realized that it was missing while taking the lift after alighting from Dearie's sister's car. At first, thought that might have dropped it in either Dearie's place or his sister's car. To 'confirm' my theory, actually called my own number. As it happened to be on low-batt and the call was diverted to office, felt a bit reassured and hopeful of finding it today.
We tried searching today, with Dearie's sister and mother's help. But to no avail. When I came back home just now, tried calling my number and to my surprise or shock, it was connected. Had an unpleasant exchange with the person who has my phone and called the service provider to report the loss.
Lessons learnt from this simple incident:
- Keep mobile phone snugly in a proper bag, not the one I carried yesterday.
- Call immediately to report loss, instead of waiting a day out. Though have to spend some time to rebuild the contact list again, it is definitely a wiser option!
- Have back-up of contact list. This will really prove useful in times like this and when a new mobile phone is bought.
- Be alert!
