Yesterday, I mentioned about being a little disappointed at one of my colleague from another department. Shared with my colleague, E, about it and my desire to talk to her so that she can better understand our perspective.
To my surprise, she came to our office this morning. Perhaps, E saw her at breakfast this morning and talked to her? Anyway, we had a little chat about it and she shared more on her perspective and acknowledged the organizing committee's point of view too. Jokingly, she kind of said in passing that cannot offend HR people, else they will have a hard time in the company. It gives me the impression that our colleagues in the company still do not have a good opinion or is fearful of our department. Which, of course, should not be the case. Perhaps, it is due to the lack of interactions with them that led them to thinking that way. Or, the perceived rigidity for procedures with regards to some of the employee benefits. On this point, I am happy to say that we are doing some review in a attempt to improve the situation.
Also, felt quite glad that managed to talk to this colleague of mine today!
