Iron Man

*Spoilers ahead*

People making money from making war weapons..
Demonstrations with tag lines of preferring that the weapons be fired only once, thus hinting at their effectiveness..

These are some of the themes from the latest movie that opened in local theatres. Having seen trailers of it before, it was not a movie that I was particularly keen in. Still, with the complimentary vouchers we had, Dearie & I watched it. And I found myself enjoying it a lot for the entertainment, witty dialogue and also being basked in the realities of today's society once again with the above themes outlined. That said, the movie is not without its flaws, which I will not touch on here (the forums do a better job).

Truth be it, we may be living in a modern society that makes virtually everything. But what some industrialist corporations make, can be damaging to other people around the world. And they do not blink about selling the products to anyone. Yes, I think money and power are at play here.

Putting aside the serious stuff, having seen the trailer beforehand, I was quite sceptical about Robert Downey Jr. being casted as the reluctant Marvel comics hero. Yet, after seeing him in reel life, I cannot help but agree that he did a good job in playing Tony Stark / Iron Man. Looking forward to a sequel. And I read that he will appear in the upcoming movie, the Incredible Hulk, too.
