Budget Time!

There are 2 schools of thoughts about budgeting, to what I know.

Budgeting is a way to plan ahead on projects to look into for the following year, in respective area of work, and log in possible expenses. Can be more forward looking and proactive!

It is also an exercise that takes up a lot of time that can be spent doing other more value-add work. There may be a shifting paradigm on giving each department a sum of money for the year and the department has the autonomy of managing the spending on their own, no questions asked.

Either way, I am thankful to God that he helped me in the consolidation of our department's operating budget. Great concentration is required in this exercise and I half thought that may panic today due to the dateline drawing near. This exercise of doing it up and the review enabled me to learn something too which can be applicable in real life. Thanks be to God!
